Shrinky dink is the new *in* thing dontcha know!!

I LOVE shrink plastic....love love LOVE it!! I mean it's been around for years in various forms, remember blowing up the oven with all those crisp bags that you would place in and try and shrinkle down for fun?? As long as you had eaten the crisps first, although I did have a friend that put a whole bag in that was unopened.....scared the living daylights out of her family who had to evacuate the house as they thought someone had let off a firework in the kitchen!! These days it's much easier to shrinky dink the stuff as you can buy it in packs and then play to your hearts content!! Whether you hand stamp onto it, draw free hand or trace an image (easier with the clear or frosted!) or put it through your ink jet printer - you can buy printer friendly shrink plastic, link here:

So enjoy if you play and I hope you enjoy looking at my little creations :o) x

A selection of bottlecaps - too much beer - hic!

Heehee, why is it folk ask how much beer you have had to drink to end up with oodles of bottlecaps?? Now do I look like a seasoned ale drinker?? I have tried the odd sip or two, but most of it tastes like an elastic band for my liking, and as much as it is well loved in this neck of the woods (Kent being well reknowned for it's hops and ale making), I would rather quaff back a pint of cider, be it english or french cidre!!

Welcoming in 2012

At last, I have time to sit down and start my blog!! Thanks to my son Dan who set this up for me (and is now co-habiting in Aussie), I should at least repay the favour and actually start USING it!! It's a little like writing a letter to a family member - you put your personal life into words along with (hopefully) pictures of any little crafty gems that you may have possibly made/found recently and hope that it may be of interest to someone!!! Soooo, here goes - I am about to upload some photos of recent *makey do's* ie bottlecap brooches and magnets, bottlecap keyrings and shrink plastic necklaces! They are all available to purchase in my Etsy/Folksy shops and also at Quex in my workshop (where you are always welcome to visit and stay for a cuppa and a natter!!) This blog isn't all about *hard sell*, it's purely to inspire, enjoy and just see what other crafters are up to and what makes us tick!! Being into steampunk, that probably isn't a bad terminology...tick...clockwork....oooh I have gone and inspired myself, better get creating!!!! Enjoy your weekend peeps x
